Here is a new 2006 Glastar, with a beautiful fresh coat of paint. A real head turner with lots of ramp and runway appeal.

This nice airplane has to go to a new home since it’s the 2nd plane I’ve built, and I’m just barely putting enough flying time on the first airplane. It just doesn’t make sense to me to keep a perfectly good Glastar on the ground for no good reason. Planes are to fly, not just to look at!

I flew off the 40 hours myself, flies real, real nice. Takes off quick. Lands in very little runway. It has lots of power for a runway at almost 5,000 ft high here in Sedona, AZ. For instance, a hot summer day can reach a 12,500 ft. density altitude. Power is appreciated at these heights, that’s for sure.

For performance, it’s no slouch, pushing over 150 mph (130 kts) TAS at 8,000 ft. just on economy cruise. It’s sipping fuel at just over 7 gph at this setting. Quite the efficient set-up for getting around and hauling lots of luggage and 2 people in comfort. A camper’s delight.
